We returned to Basildon Park full of enthusiasm and ideas. The boys decided to improve the workshop they had started in previous weeks. The girls decided to adorn the wigwam with pieces of fern but also as a way of protection against the showers.  The boys followed suite and both dens proved to be dry for us when we got caught in a couple of showers. We all became fascinated by the patterns we found under the bark on a rotting tree trunk. It looked like someone had drawn symmetrical patterns with a pen knife. We discovered it was the work of a bark beetle!
