Our challenge this week was to look for signs of spring, and the children found dainty snowdrops growing alongside the springy new moss, tight buds on branches and tiny seedlings curling their way up from the squidgy mud. Molly noticed the crows building nests in the tallest trees – they were making such a racket! Toby and Davontay challenged themselves to balance along and jump between the damp logs, Elsie used a pronged stick as a carrying tool, and Harry used a twig to write ‘We love woodland’ in the earth. The children also decided on a new location for our sticky toes meeting point, finding an area with better shelter and more access points.

Please can you ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather and brings a water bottle.  Time spent tracking down spare waterproofs, jumpers and water bottles means less time in the woods! Mrs Burton
