We began our session with hide and seek which we played with a difference - if we found the person hiding, we had to join them and hide too until everyone was in the same hiding place! Next, we spent time choosing our own activities. Arthur noticed that there was a lot of funghi in the woods and we noticed they grow on old, dead wood. Jax enjoyed tying twigs together using wool and practising knots. Lilly-May and Ella worked with Miss Clarke to make dolls and unicorns from twigs and wool. Many of us used the trowels to dig and uncovered worms and beetles. We made sure that we did not disturb them too much, and covered them as we had found them. Brandon even found a ladybird sleeping on a branch which he thought was a berry at first glance. We spent time trying to sit as still and as quiet as we could to notice the woodland sounds - we heard a red kite and Jax noticed the trails that aeroplanes leave in the sky. After hot chocolate and apples we practised listening carefully by being as quiet as we could - until we heard the engine of the minibus with Mrs Keegan driving to collect us.

What a great start to our working week!
