Hello and welcome to the Falcon class webpage from Mrs Burgess and Mrs Thomas.

Upper Key Stage 2 is an exciting and pivotal time for children at Purley Primary School, as they step into their roles as leaders and role models that our younger students look up to. This stage is also crucial for preparing them for the transition to secondary school and the KS2 SATs, ensuring they are ready for the next chapter in their education journey.

In Year 5 and Year 6, Maths is taught in year group cohorts, allowing us to tailor our teaching to the specific needs of each group, ensuring every student is supported and challenged appropriately.

We make the most of technology to enrich learning across the curriculum, and each student in Falcon Class has access to their own Chromebook. This technology enables our pupils to engage in collaborative projects with global partners, enhancing teamwork skills, deepening their learning experiences, and broadening their understanding of the world around them.

A highlight of Upper Key Stage 2 is our exciting week-long residential trip to North Wales, where students enjoy outdoor activities, develop independence, and build lifelong memories with their peers. This experience, along with their time in the classroom, ensures they leave Purley Primary School as confident, capable, and well-prepared individuals ready to take on the challenges of secondary school.
